Lucy Lawless, a New Zealander, is a singer and actress who is a well-known name within the entertainment industry. Lucy Lawless is an acclaimed performer and actress who hails from New Zealand. She's had prominent characters in numerous popular television and film shows, including Xena, Warrior Princess and Spartacus, Blood and Sand. Her most well-known role is her portrayal of Xena, which she did during her entire career as an actor. The character was initially planned for actress Vanessa Angel but ultimately went to Lucy because she was not able to attend the shooting because of illness. The way Xena was depicted and the respect it received to, it later was one of the most favorites on television during the period when the series was airing along with other shows. Her success as Xena led to a spin-off show that was launched in September 1995. Lucy is now a renowned actor because of the success in the sequel.
